The new 2015 Michigan Residential Code (MRC), filed with the Secretary of State on October 9, 2015, becomes effective on February 8, 2016. It has been six years since the last code book was released and there are many changes. The information below may be helpful in identifying the key differences between the 2009 MRC, 2012 IRC and the 2015 MRC.
