2018 SPRING PARADE OF HOMES SHOWCASES WEST MICHIGAN HOME CONSTRUCTION

Updated_ParadeofHomes-Logo_horizontalThe annual Spring Parade of Homes presented by the Home Builders Association of Greater Grand Rapids and sponsored by Lake Michigan Credit Union will feature 66 homes to tour created by 55 different builders in this year’s event. Providing inspiration for potential home buyers or those looking to remodel, as well as giving guests an opportunity to check out the craftsmanship our builders provide West Michigan.

The Grand Rapids Spring Parade of Homes kicks off May 25 and continues through June 9, 2018.  Homes will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 1- 9 pm and on Wednesdays from 5-9pm and Memorial Day, May 28 from 1-9pm. We are excited to work closely again with our sponsor, Lake Michigan Credit Union. With many locations to be able to purchase tickets from and the warm staff to provide support, we know this partnership will benefit all parade-goers.

“The Parade of Homes will be featuring many trade-up and premium homes. Some are available to buy while others showcase the builders who are ready to build custom homes in this strong economy,” says Andy Lofgren, HBAGGR Executive Officer. “We also have 3 homes that will showcase remodeled projects June 8-9. The builders will show what can be done to bring new life into homes and condos.  As always our builders will showcase the best the industry has to offer.”  In addition, there are 3 virtual only homes that can be viewed online starting May 18, 2018.

The Parade will feature custom homes, and condos from 16 different West Michigan communities ranging from city center to the lakeshore.  The communities include: Ada, Allendale, Alto, Bryon Center, Caledonia, Cedar Springs, Conklin, Coopersville, East Grand Rapids, Grand Haven, Grand Rapids, Grandville, Hudsonville, Jenison, Lowell, Plainwell, Rockford, Spring lake, Walker, West Olive, and Zeeland.  With prices ranging from $150,000 to over $1 million, builders will be showcasing the latest trends in building styles, using green practices, custom details, unique floor coverings, the latest wall treatments, quality products, and landscaping.

With the growing Baby Boomer population condo communities are growing.  “Today’s condos are “not your grandmother’s condo,” says Priscilla Lyon, Event Director for HBA of Greater Grand Rapids.  “Many of our condo builders provide custom floor plans and details including zero-step front entry and zero-step showers, in addition to large kitchen islands, family rooms, wet bars, and large guest suites.  Some condos feature walkable communities in close proximity to social amenities, so owners have everything they need nearby.”

The $10 Spring Parade of Homes tickets are available through our website, myGRhome.com or at any of Lake Michigan Credit Union’s local branches. You can also purchase tickets for $12 at the homes.
