Giving Tuesday is a movement prompted by the economic frenzy of both Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It is a phenomenon that encourages the spirit of giving back during the holiday season. YOU can make a difference in your own community through the HBA Foundation. Throughout the Foundation’s 28 year history, members pulled together to construct a wide variety of projects, despite an economic downturn. More than 600 wheelchair ramps and critical electrical, plumbing, and home repairs have been completed through Community Repair Days, a unique partnership with the Home Repair Services of Kent County and Disability Advocated. Hundreds of thousands of dollars in lumber, nails, and other building materials are donated annually while members volunteer their time to construct the ramps and complete the repairs. The HBA Foundation continues to empower the next generation. Whether they are looking to go into the skilled trades, work for a builder, or own their own company, the support and tools to get started will be there. We know the residential construction industry is a great place to make a mark on the world. Since 1990, members have awarded more than $150, 000 in scholarships. We encourage you to join us in making a difference in the lives of those facing special housing needs and in reaching out to the next generation of housing industry professionals.
Foundation Director, Jodie Rykse Salmoran says there are so many reasons to give, “gifts made here will support local businesses, impact those with special housing needs, and re-build our scholarship fund.” The HBA Foundation is growing with the help of generous individuals like you who want to give back “you don’t have to make a large donation to make an impact. Anyone can make a difference.” It doesn’t take much AND it’s easy! Click here https://mygrhome.memberzone.com/eventregistration/register/1952 to donate and give back this holiday season!
