Energy efficient neighborhood centrally located between Rockford, Cedar Springs and Greenville Schools
Sable Homes is beginning construction on another neighborhood left unfinished during the recent recession. North Rockford Estates, located on 14 Mile in Oakfield Township between Ramsdell Drive and Harvard Avenue, can expect to see building beginning again by October.
The neighborhood was initially designed to be an energy efficient development consisting of 34 homes each on one acre lots. With only six homes currently built, Sable will build new homes on the remaining 28 lots to complete the community. The new homes are expected to earn a Home Energy Rating System (HERS) 5+ star rating. This is the highest achievable rating on the HERS system and only goes to homes which prove to be 30 percent more energy efficient than code.
“North Rockford Estates was designed to be an energy efficient neighborhood, which perfectly aligns with our specialty in the home building industry,” said John Bitely, president of Sable Homes. “We’re excited to begin work on this neighborhood and build a beautiful community that will compliment our existing neighbors.”
Sable specializes in building high-quality, energy-efficient homes. In an effort to uphold North Rockford Estates goal of being an energy efficient neighborhood, Sable uses energy efficient materials which help to lower energy bills and are better for the environment. In addition, other building materials will help to reduce airborne chemicals and make for a healthier home for the future homeowners. One example is the use of Superior Basement walls which will be used on all 34 homes to improve each house’s HERS rating.
The neighborhood is centrally located between Rockford, Cedar Springs and Greenville providing school of choice for all three districts.
The cost of the homes will start around $175,000.
